EDFL seeking Umpires for upcoming 2019 Season
Umpiring can build confidence, teach the umpire to make important decisions under pressure, and improve his /her interpersonal and communication skills. Umpiring is another way to be part of the game. We have had great success with junior players taking up umpiring and playing.
CAN I PLAY and UMPIRE:
Yes, you can but that may impact on appointment to games on occasions. As umpires you are required to arrive 45 minutes prior to the game scheduled starting time. The EDFL will make best endeavours to work around playing and umpiring commitments as we support participation in our game.
YES, YOU GET PAID to UMPIRE:
No tax is deducted as umpiring is classed by the ATO as a recreational hobby.
The EDFL requires 500 umpires to service our competition.
